Get the most out of YouParle
Here is what makes YouParle work better. For the details, ask your teacher directly.
-
Your AI's permissions
Your app decides what your teacher may do. Your teacher needs permission to read and write in your course folder, to run commands, and to search the web. Without these permissions, the app may ask for your approval at nearly every step, and that interrupts your lessons.
Your teacher never writes outside your course folder. It reads files outside it only when you ask it to. Giving these permissions is your choice.
Ask your teacher: How can I let you work without asking me each time?
-
Choosing the model
Your app lets you choose between several AI models. Your teacher works best with the most capable one, above all in your first session: that's when it estimates your level and searches for your resources.
A more capable model uses up your subscription's limits faster. You can switch to a cheaper one later.
Ask your teacher: Which model should I use, and how do I select it?
-
Your lessons on your phone
Your teacher runs on your computer. With the Obsidian app on your phone, you can also read your lessons and review your flashcards there. For that, your course folder must be synced to your phone.
There are free ways to do it. The right one depends on your phone and your computer. Your teacher helps you choose it, then guides you step by step.
Ask your teacher: Help me get my lessons on my phone.
-
Voice and transcription
Your AI only handles text. A voice reads texts aloud. With it, your teacher makes listening exercises, and finds out which sounds you confuse. Transcription turns a recording into text. With it, your teacher can use a podcast that has no transcript, and check what its voice said.
Your teacher offers them when an activity needs them. You can also ask for them at any time. Some options are free, others are paid. Some run on your computer, others send your texts or recordings to an online service. Your teacher tells you which before you choose.
Ask your teacher: Set up a voice for me.
Type your messages, or dictate them into the message box. Avoid live mode, where your AI answers out loud as you speak: in some apps, another model answers there, without your teacher's instructions.
-
Updates
Once a day, YouParle checks for a new version. When there is one, your teacher tells you at the start of a session. An update keeps your lessons, flashcards, notes and your teacher's memory.
Ask your teacher: Update YouParle.

Switching to another AI
Your course is a folder of plain files, and your teacher's memory is in it. To move to another AI, install its desktop app, and open the same folder in its agent mode. The new teacher reads the same memory and continues your course.
Each app has its own settings, so ask your new teacher to check them.
Ask your teacher: I just moved my course to this app. Check your permissions and the model.
